I have been going back and forth for the past 8 months on what song we should use for our first dance as husband and wife. Now that the wedding is only about 4 weeks away…I need to make a decision! Please tell me which you think would be best, Pearl Jam “Just Breath” or Edwina Hayes “Feels Like Home”. They are so completely different but I love them both. I am leaning towards Pearl Jam because it is my FI’s favorite band and I know he would enjoy it more, but I wonder if it is “lovey dovey” enough?! Thanks for your help 🙂

I wouldn’t worry about a song sounding “lovey-dovey” enough! You should choose the song that means the most to both of you as a couple and if it’s not lovey-dovey, who cares? I think it will be more special if it is meaningful as opposed to a “generic” love song.

I love Just Breathe. I think it’s a great love song because it feels so genuine.

I was all ready to vote for Feels Like Home because I looooooove that song and I don’t generally care for Pearl Jam, but then I read that it is your FI’s favorite band and I decided to listen to it. Honestly, I think it is a really nice song with great lyrics AND it will mean more to your (future) husband. Weddings end up being a whole lot about the bride and what we want because we care more about a lot of the stuff… if he has an opinion here and you don’t hate it– I would totally go with pearl jam.

Thanks for the great feedback!! Although he said it’s up to me, I have to agree, I think the Pearl Jam song will have more meaning to us 🙂
