We chose “Just in Time” by Jason Lancaster. It’s a beautiful song, and my Fiance sings it to me all the time, so it just kind of became our song. Annnnnd it doesn’t hurt that my Fiance has the name Justin, so it sounds like the song it saying “Justin Time” which makes us laugh.

We danced to “Can’t Help Falling in Love” cover by Ingrid Michaelson.  We liked the sweet and simple lyrics, and I wanted a classic song with a modern twist so this fit the bill perfectly.

sarahramo:  Too funny! That’s DH’s name too and we joke how he’s “Justin-credible”. ๐Ÿ˜‰

“Hey Pretty Girl” by Kip Moore was our first dance song. It was just a song that fit us. We both love country music so we knew it would be a country song. When I heard the song, I just knew we would play it and use it for our first dance!!

We are going with a non-traditional song… one no one really knows. It’s Dierks Bentley “Soon as You Can” the chorus says “Whena  man wants to be with a woman, there ain’t no way of gettin’ there too fast. When you know who you wanna spend the rest of your life with, you wanna start the rest of your life, soon as you can”

So it fits for a wedding song, but the real reason we chose it is there’s a verse about the guy driving 90 mph down trying to get to his girl. He gets pulled over but the cop let’s him off with a warning. But as soon as the guy gets out of town, he starts speeding again. This EXACT scenario happened to us years ago. We planned to meet somewhere to spend the night together when we were dating. My now Fiance had to help his brothers out (they broke down). So on the way back, he was going 89 mph down the high way trying to get to me. He got pulled over and when the cop asked him why he was speeding, my Fiance told him he had a “hot date” and had to get to his girl. The cop let him off with a warning (he found the warning just last week… we’re thinking of framing it with the lyrics to our song) but as soon as my Fiance got a little ways out of town, he was speeding again to get to me.

I love “first dance” songs that mean something to the couple. We never wanted to just pick one out of a hat or use a “popular” first dance song.

We are going with adele’s “make you feel my love”. It’s a bob dylan cover. It’s super pretty and not cliche. We both loved it and agreed on it.

We are huge Disney fans and one day while we were at Disneyland we were watching a show, and they used the song “So Close” from the movie Enchanted. I looked at him in tears, that was our song. And we stuck with it since. It turned out absolutely beautiful and it fit the venue and smoke effects so well. I wish I could go back just to dance it again.

We’re dancing to Ed Sheeran “Thinking out Loud” because the first time we hung out alone (we had been friends for a while) at Starbucks it started playing and then when starbucks closed we sat in my car talking for hours and it came on again in the car. It just kind of stuck with us ever since and we both love it

“The Offering” by the Avett Brothers.  We are both big Avett fans, especially the older stuff.  There is a chance we may go with Ben Folds “The Luckiest” and cut out the verse about the old people dying.  I keep going between the two, but as of right now it is “The Offering”.

The Luckiest by Ben Folds. It’s kind of slow and quirky and the whole song pretty much encompasses our relationship. We went through the ups and downs and we didn’t get a ton of stuff right at first, but we are lucky to have each other and our bond runs really deep.

Fiance cried when I played him the song – I was shocked! That’s how we knew it was it. He never cries aside from mentioning his grandmother.

MissJulianna:  Such a great song!! We had 3 songs in our wedding that really hit us in the feels:

1) Processional – “A Thousand Years” (The Piano Guys version) – we didn’t realize it was “the Twilight Song” until after our wedding (oops!). But we loved the piano/cello arrangement so much I know we would have used it regardless.

2) First Dance Song (Hey Pretty Girl)

3) Wedding Highlight Video Song – “My Dear” by Bethel Music
