- Wedding: October 2007
Hi all,
I am a long time lurker, but it’s my first post, and I would like a little input. My husband and I will celebrate our 10th anniversary this fall, and we are having a formal vow renewal. We did not do the wedding ceremony/reception the first time, it was a JOP wedding. We have elected to do some of the first time wedding ceremony things, one of those being a “first dance”. Even if we had the whole she-bang the first time, I would still do a first dance in celebration. But I am having difficulty choosing a song. We are very involved in our church and active in our faith as Christians and that was one thing that wasn’t implemented into our JOP ceremony. It’s something that came after the fact so that is one reason why we want to do this. That being said we will have a lot of friends and Pastor from church including the one that is speaking at the renewal. I want to be sensitive to everybody’s views but I understand that ultimately it’s our choice to choose a song. My first pic is a song by Shinedown called I’ll follow you. The reason why I’m struggling with this is that there’s a line in the song that says I don’t care if we fall from grace. Im feeling a little weird about using it seeing as for us and our friends, our faith is a big part of who we are….. but I like this song more than any other, it fits our style of music, etc. perfectly, and aside from that one line in the chorus, it is a beautiful song. Would you side eye/be put off by something like that if you were a guest? Maybe I’m just being silly. I can provide a link if you’d like to give a listen. Thanks!
