We are at odds with our first dance song! My ears are practically bleeding listening to song after song! Being the last of our friends to get married wfelled we can’t ” re use” a song friends danced too.
Well we are a long way off, and I haven’t officially discussed it with fiance yet…. but I realllllllly want to have “Without you Here” by the GooGoo Dolls be our first dance song 🙂
“You love’s a gathered storm, I chased across the sky. A moment in your arms, became the reason why. And you’re still the only light, that fills the emptiness, the only one I need, until my dying breath…” (the first few lines of the song)
We’ve scaled back on our wedding quite a bit recently, so it’s super casual and we’ve yet to decide whether we’ll have a “first dance” on our wedding day. But, the song we had chosen is Woman Like You by Lee Brice. (A fun, laid back, country tune – basically a guy singing about what he’d be doing if he was single, but says he’d rather be where he is now, with her):
It makes both Fiance and I smile. It’s hard because although we’ve been together for years, but don’t really have “a song”
Fiance is a huge DMB fan, so we are doing Steady As We Go. I actually love it, it’s different and the lyrics are beautiful. Sort of recognizing that things aren’t always going to be puppies and rainbows, but we will work hard at it and make it in the end.
