I moved in with my Fiance a month ago and we’d always talked that we wanted to live together so that we could do more cooking together (eating out all the time is really expensive!). But we had to wait until we could put up a heat shield in order to use the stove. Well it’s up! On deck for the first dinner in the ‘new’ place tonight is Chicken Cordon Bleu and Rice Krispy Treats (as a surprise). Can’t wait!
What was (is going to be) your first dinner that you cook together?

@renwoman: We moved in before we were engaged. I still remember our first meal because by the time we got all the boxes in and we were only part way through unpacking so the kitchen was a real mess. So the first meal we had was out of a box lol! It was pizza. The first cooked meal I am fairly certain would have been pasta! That sounds so yummy and I hope you enjoy your first home cooked meal together 🙂

When we first moved in together (3 years before we got married) it was into a tiny downtown apartment. I don’t remember what we made the first night we cooked, but I do vividly remember that we at dinner sitting on the floor, in the two sides of our IKEA armoire (that Darling Husband was assembling). There was literally no other space that wasn’t full of boxes, and we hadn’t yet gotten barstools for the counter. We were so excited, though!

@renwoman: I think the first dinner I made for Fiance was a seafood linguine with a white wine, garlic and lemon cream sauce. I don’t know how I pulled that one off- I think it was a total fluke

@renwoman: Sounds fun!! I don’t remember the first meal we had when I moved in with him officially or the first mealwe had when we moved into our new house. I do remember he made ribs on the smoker on our first date and invited me over for dinner (we had our date at an ice cream place). His way of cooking was really bachelor-ish, and he ended up spilling all the rib juice/suace on the floor, so there I was…knew the guy for 4 hours and was cleaning up his kitchen already, lol. They were damn delicious ribs though.
