- Wedding: December 2012
Fiance and I are writing our own vows (separately). I just finished a first draft and would love feedback on tone, etc. FWIW, we’re planning to say those vows to each other and then answer the traditional “to have and to hold…” question (partly because we both wanted to say “I do!”). Thanks so much for your thoughts!!
Mr. Beanybee, I love you because although we’re exchanging these promises to each other today, you’ve been living your promises to me for a long time now.
I love you because you remind me all of the time that we’re a team. You tell me – and you’ve shown me – that we’re partners and that no matter what life brings our way, we’ll face it together. I feel so lucky that I get to face this life with you.
I love you because you are kind – to me and to the other important people in your life. You make me feel so loved, and you also inspire me to be a more loving and more compassionate person.
I love you because you hate cats, but you love my cats, because you brought [Dog’s Name] into our lives, because you can make me laugh till I cry, and because when I’m crying, you can make me laugh.
But most of all, Mr. Beanybee, I love you because you’re you. You are wonderful. And silly. And I think you’re a genius. I am my happiest and my most content when I am with you.
And because I love you, Mr. Beanybee, I promise that I will do everything I can to keep you at your happiest and most content. I will love you unconditionally. I will trust you wholeheartedly. I will make you laugh unexpectedly, and I will remember to show you how special you are to me. I will always be here for you, and if our marriage ever needs fighting for, I promise I will fight for it.
I love you so much, Mr. Beanybee. I’m so glad that we made it here, and I can’t wait to call you my husband.
