Had my first dress fitting today (along with my hair trial) and I fell in love with my dress all over again. On my way there I had such butterflies, but once I had my dress on I wanted to stay in it as long as I could!!
Now, I have to choose a bustle! I like them both but am not sure which looks better. Which do you prefer on this dress? How did you have your bustle and why?
I realize that the under bustle will look a little different than in the picture because pins are kind of restricting how the dress will “poof”.
I would love to see some photos of your bustles with lace dresses!

I think it looks much better over. Love your dress by the way.

I’m normally a fan of under bustles, but on that particular dress, I would totally do the over bustle.

Over bustle looks better in my opinion

I think that I like the look of the over bustle from the back but I am not sure how I feel about how it looks from different angles, I wish I had a pic. It kinda remainds me of a “tail”…except there are 3. With the under bustle, I am not sure about the horizontal line it makes on the dress, or if the poof looks appropriate since the dress is pretty form fitting. So I would say right now I probably like them equally since I have reservations about each of them.

I really like the under bustle. I realize I’m in the minority, but I just think it looks more “flowing” rather than “pinned up”, so to speak.

@melisslp: Totally agree!
I prefer the second bustle by a mile!

Do you have to make that alteration to your dress? (I’m not sure, if they make you choose one, idk) The first one looks strange like it’s being teken in to you. The second one is worlds better but I think the dress is most beautiful without either.

@whirledpeace: I guess another option would be to have a wrist loop…but I don’t know how I feel about carrying my dress around all night.
@melisslp: I know what you mean, I kinda see the same “pinned up” thing when I look at it.

ooooooooo added twist. How do you think something like this would look in comparison?

Gorgeous dress, btw…over is much better. I also have a bustle that goes over. I think it looks nicer, for some reason the under ones tend to look frumpy or bouncy to me.
