Hi my busy bees!
From Australia but ADDICTED to weddingbee!
I have hit a dilemma. About a year ago, before I was engaged, I walked past a local dress shop, saw a dress in the window and said – that’s the dress I want to wear for my wedding. Fastforward a year, I had the ring on my finger and set off to try on the dress. I love it. I want it. It’s got no bling or beading, just lace. It even comes with a lacy bolero that you can wear to the ceremony and take off for the reception.
Problems? It’s $2500 AUD and even though my Fiance said that I could have it, it still irks me to pay THAT MUCH for a dress I’ll wear for 7 hours of my life!
Another problem is that it is the first dress I’ve tried on (of about 10). Should I keep looking or bite the bullet and get this dress?
P.S. I’ve also chucked in a photo of one of my beautiful bridesmaids in her dress. TOTAL steal at $130 on special! Yuhuh!

If you love it you should get it. I only tried on about 4 dresses, but when I put on my dress I knew it was the one.

I only tried on 5 dresses and knew that my gown was the one. I think that if it is in your budget, you should get it, if you really love it and know it is the one. Since it has been a year and it is still on your mind, I would get it if at all possible.
Also, your bridesmaid is lovely and I love her gown. Can you share where you got it, please

Mine was the 4th dress I tried on but I seriously wish I tried on more… Just to be sure..
I paid 1200 AUD dollars and made a saving of over a grand. I would see if you could find the dress at a differant store by calling and maybe they might have it cheaper?
A friend of mind did this and saved herself 700 dollars.
P.S always great to have another aussie on board!

I would keep trying on dresses, mostly because you’re uncomfortable with the price. If you don’t find anything better, that dress will always be there waiting for you. 🙂

I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t think you will regret buying the dress of your dreams. It will make you feel so good on your wedding day and will be in pictures for the rest of your life. If you guys can afford it, I say go for it!

I bought the first and ONLY dress that I tried on, but I was comfortable with the price. It looks like you still have plenty of time to shop around, and who knows you may find a really good deal on that same dress at another shop, OR the store that you tried it on in may have a sale. Look for trunk shows, they typically have the best deals.
