I like the second dress. Don’t let your experience get you down.  Maybe you can try another store with a bigger selection of gowns.  My first day dress shopping I went to two stores.  The first store had a huge selection and the consultant was very kind and helpful.  The next store we went to was the exact opposite.  The staff was rude when we walked into the door.  My consultant was not helpful at all.  She did not even want to help me into the dresses If I would have went to this shop first I probably would have left the same way you are feeling.  You may have a totally different experience somewhere else.  I wish you the best in your quest to find the dress!

I think both dresses look great on you! I’m also plus size, so I understand the insecurities. Give another bridal shop a try, it can be fun to try on different styles. If there is an Alfred Angelo signature store near you, they carry a lot of plus size samples.

I really love the second dress on you!! Beautiful. πŸ™‚

Don’t get discouraged! You look fantastic in that second dress, and I’m SURE there are TONS of others out there to make you look just as beautiful, so many that you won’t be able to decide which is best. πŸ™‚

The second dress looks great on you!  I’m also insecure and found that ruching (especially from the side) made me feel so much better.  But try on lots of different styles and take pictures!  I found looking at pictures later made me realize what I really did and didn’t like.  Good luck and stay positive!

Where are you from?

I found looking on weddingbee may give you more stores to look at a larger selection of dresses.

If you do not love it you may want to keep shopping.  Don’t settle.  I agree the second dress is my fav of the two.  but in the end your wedding dress should make YOU feel  wonderful.  You and every bride deserves that!!!

Love the second dress. Remember, after alterations it’s going to be fitted to your body and will look a million times better!

Girl, keep your head up and remeber that you will be beautiful on your day!!! I like dress #2, it gives you a great shape. Mine is vey similar in shape but mine has a halter.  But a hint for the next time you go out to look, do your hair and make-up and dress cute! You are special, you are the bride, enjoy every minute!

@teachernva:  The second dress is pretty and elegant and boy it looks nice on you!

I really like the top of dress #1 but that bottom–no! it’s too messy. I realize that it’s not spread out and pressed to look it’s best, but still–I don’t like pick ups and all of the other stuff going on with that skirt, it’s too much. If Dress #1 had a strait skirt it would be nice.

If you can make the trip, please try Curvaceous Couture in Columbia, MD – they have stunning designer gowns and good personal service, I had a good experience there and they do have plus sized samples!

The 2nd dress looks beautiful. Do not get discouraged. There is a dress out there for every shape and it will make you glow, trust me. I notice you like dresses that are A-Line so when you go shopping next you can let them know that you prefer A-Line gowns (they tend to flatter curvier figures, pear shapes, and hour glass figures). I finally got my dress last week on Monday and up until I found it dress shopping made me sad. Once you find THE dress you will be so excited! Just go in knowing that at point you will find the one =)

The second dress is very flattering on you. There is something about the bottom of the first dress that I don’t love.  You’ll find something you love- don’t give up! πŸ™‚
