I had my first bridal shop appointment today. I only took my mom with me because I was so nervous. We have plenty of time, but my mom really wanted to start looking at dresses. I had five favorites, but of those, two really stood out as clear favorites.
I am having an outdoor garden ceremony and indoor reception, so I want something softer and more romantic and appropriate for a garden wedding. I hope you bees will give me some input because these dresses are so different, but I can’t choose!
First up, Watters Florence:
I didn’t care for the model photo at all, so I googled other images and found this one, which shows the texture a little better:
I tried it on in ivory with sparrow detailing (shown in pictures), but the detailing is also available in eggshell, ivory, or white. I definitely want an ivory dress though. We would add a modified sweetheart to this one.
The other beauty, Wtoo Natalia:
Beautiful lace, could easily do a fun sash (other than the ribbon it comes with, which I am not crazy about), and a bit more traditional. My mom said this one looks sweeter on, that I look more innocent, lol. The bottom is scalloped lace and gorgeous.
So how did I do for my first time out? (Other than the fact that my mom forgot her camera…) What do you think?
ETA: (Sorry the pictures are so big!!)

Any suggestions of other similar styles/designers? Or something else that would look beautiful for a garden wedding?

Absolutely adore the Wtoo!

I love both dresses! But I fell in love with the Watters when I saw the second picture… more definition, and basically better on the second model than the first! Love it 🙂 I’m also biased because I’m a Watters bride as well 🙂 🙂 🙂 Wtoo is gorgeous as well, so you can’t go wrong!

Wow I am in love with the second dress. That is what I was originally looking for. Do you mind sharing the cost?

the wtoo is gorgeous! It would help to see them on you. I’ve seen lots of dresses and i think “that is SO my dress!!! it’s so pretty!”. And then I try it on and hate it on me. Based on the model pic though, number 2 is gorgeous. I’m also having an outdoor reception so I’m interested to see which dress you go with!

@Pupperoni: No problem. We went to a boutique shop and the Watters was close to $2300 and the Wtoo was about $800 I think. I don’t know what the pricing on them might be elsewhere.

@FutureMrsMcDermott: Yeah, I meant to take pictures, but my mom forgot the camera. When we go back, I plan on taking a few more people to give opinions and a camera for sure. I am pretty curvy (and a street size 8-10), and these both gave me a really nice hourglass figure. This was only our first store. My mom has three others she wants to go to in our city, plus wants to go shopping in Cincinnati and NYC, lol. I am glad she is excited, but its a bit overwhelming!

@kperry3: Thank you! The Watters is the one we are leaning towards. I like that it is different, but still soft and romantic. The model picture doesn’t do it justice. Its much prettier and more delicate in person. I am trying to decide if it is TOO different and if I would like the detailing in the same color as the dress, but the detailing is what makes it….this is a little hard!

Your taste seems similar to mine as these were also two of my top favorites. I also liked the Watters Carmella and the Casablanca 1769(what I ended up going with) The Carmella was hard to give up though.
All that said, I couldn’t vote for either of your two choices above because I think they’re both so great that either way, you can’t go wrong.

Great choices! I am torn!
