So after months of browsing pictures and researching and one possibly ill-advised venture into a bridal salon with Fiance in tow, I’ve formed a pretty solid idea of the type of dress I want.
Or so I thought.
In my head I see a simple strapless A-line, fitted and ruched up top but flaring out gently with soft folds of chiffon, with little draped chiffon off-the-shoulder sleeves. I’m completely stuck on this image. So when my lovely BMs whisked me off to Alfred Angelo the other day, I was totally stuck on style 2171:
All it needed was the little draped sleeves I had envisioned, and it was pretty much exactly what I had in mind. I felt great in it! I even tried this one on again at the end after going through another eight dresses or so. I didn’t feel like it was necessarily “the one”, but it was definitely the favorite.
Looking back at the photos my girls so helpfully took, I’m really loving the look of style 1807! I think it’s more figure-flattering (although that could be due to the fact that I’m a 0-2 and all the samples were many sizes too large). The lace is lovely, and the bias ruching does nice things for my torso.
So now I am all full of uncertainty. I’m hoping to do another shopping trip with my mother and sisters this weekend and I’m sure I’ll come out of that with a totally different perspective, but in the meantime I just wanted to share pictures and solicit feedback. And just for fun, here are the rest of my favorites (2180, 1148, and 207 “Snow White”, respectively):
Also, if anyone has pictures of themselves in any of these dresses, go ahead and post ’em!
