So I had my first dress trial yestderday and I was so… underwhelmed. I get so emotional just thining about things and when they actually happen, it feels like no bg deal! Ugh! Anyway, we did find a couple dresses we liked but none really worked or gave me that WOW feeling. Actually, wedding dresses make me feel fat! I am NOT a plus size girl! Not that there is anything wrong with that. But all the dresses they pulled for me to try on WERE plus sizes and a couple of the dresses I REALLY wanted to try on I couldn’t because they only had them in Miss- which is what they call their Non-Plus size. I know it is only the first store but I need to find the dress in the next three weeks to make absolutely sure I will actually have the dress on the wedding day. Here are a few pictures of the dresses we did kinda like. (ignore the look on my face. I never knew when my sister was taking than and was usually getting frustrated at my overbearing mother) Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t have a terrible time. I just thought I would feel differently.

i like the first one ALOT!!

You look great, maybe try on different styles other than those with ‘pick up’ skirts…I had a vision of what I thought I wanted, but ended up trying on all sorts and picked out something completely different. Don’t limit yourself to trying on one style only

The first one is way better than any of the other ones you posted pictures of. So pretty!

I love the first one too. The only problem with it (which I don’t have a picture of) is that when I turn to the side my boobs make a not so flattering shelf… ugh. But that is the problem I am running into with strapless so even though I want it strapless I may have to concede for a halter.
And I really wanted to try on something other than pickup dresses but my mother was making that difficult and they really didn’t have too many options for “my size”. Hopefully at the next place we look I will have more options.

I like the style and the shape of the first one the best. Don’t get discouraged. There is a perfect dress out there for you and there is a whole world of wedding dresses outside of Davids Bridal 🙂

I think you’re right that you should try on a couple more different styles. I had it in my head that I wanted a certain type of dress, but when i finally started trying on a wide range of style I fianlly found the one! Sometimes it just takes some good hunting, but if you have the will then you’ll get the dress of your dreams!
If it doesn’t scream “yes, yes, yes!” to you then keep shopping. Three weeks is a lot of time to hit up those bridal stores! Good luck 🙂

The first one is def the best, but you MUST try on other styles. Once you buy the dress in the right size, you should be able to get it altered so that you feel good and don’t have ‘shelf boob’; they should be able to make the cups sit flush against your chest with your boobs mostly inside. My best friend has huge boobs, and she found a sottero and midgley strapless dress that she was able to tuck them into and she looked great all night. The corset back really helped keep the girls down and in, instead of up and out.
I would think an A-line that flows away from the body more gently than the traditional waisted ballgowns you were trying on would look nice. I think was what was nice about the first dress, how the fabric looks light and flowy compared to the other ones which is probably why you felt bigger in them, because they added so much volume to your lower half.
This was the dress (except it wasn’t pink). It cinched her waist in and then flowed away from her body. It was great, and the shape would probably look great on you as well. It’s style SSM5049 and it was reasonably priced too.

They all look nice, but the first dress is really beautiful on you. The sweetheart neckline is really flattering. I would definitely look for a sweetheart or v neck. Good luck!

I like #1 too. But if you’re not feeling overwhelmed, you need to keep shopping I think

It looks like most of what you tried on had the same shape and idea to them, so perhaps step outside of what you think you want and try something different? You may fall in love unexpectedly!

So I went to another store last night to try to find something that made me feel better and I did! I LOVE this dress. Origionally it is out of my price range But… I found a website where I can get it for $290 which is definately in my price range. I will have to do some more research on that though so I don’t get taken advantage of. The dress is a Mori Lee 4509. These pictures were taken with a cell phone so Im not sure the quality.

Oh yea, you look great in that dress. Your waist looks tiny and the detailing on the back is pretty.

NOW you’re talking!! Much better! This dress flatters your shape more and you look great!
