Last month, I had to reschedule my fitting because of work. From then, I decided to get in gear and lose weight.. Needless to say, that never happened! I think I have actually gained weight from stress eating and little exercise. I am so nervous about my dress not fiftting, that I think I want to cancel it again and try to lose weight like crazy! My wedding is May 27, so I think I still have an extra week or two before I have to get fitted.
If I do go to my fitting, can I have them focus on the length and not do anything to the waist area until the next fitting?! I just dont want to pay them a bunch now to do alternations and even more the next time around.Even if I put it off a week to try to drop a few pounds, I plan to keep losing until the next fitting, so do I just suck it up (and IN!) and go now anyway?
What do you think? I need advice!

I think that you should go in and see how it fits you around your waist and see where you are in terms of weight loss. The idea of it is probably way more than you actually think! I would go and try it on so that you can have a tangible idea of what you need to do.
Good luck! 🙂

Aww hugs. I think you should face the dress and get an idea of where you stand based on the fit. That just may be the extra motivation you need to kick it in high gear. Take a pic of you in the dress even and use that a visual to keep you on track.

I think it’s a good idea to go in and try the dress on. If it doesn’t fit, then just have then reschedule an appointment for another day. But I was in the same boat as you. My fitting was over the weekend and I was TERRIFIED that it wouldn’t fit because I too have been stressed and eating like MAD and not exercising. But the dress went on, it zipped, and it needed to be taken in. So you may just be feeling worse then your possible weight gain may actually be.But there’s only one way to find out…go in and try it on. Good luck!

go now so you know exactly what you have to do before the wedding.

i agree and say that you should go now – you might be pleasantly surprised – and if not, you have time to deal with it. my tailor isn’t taking the sides in until the two weeks before the wedding since he sees brides go up and down so much before their wedding (and with a strapless dress, it better not be too big) so even though i have had two fittings (one for the bust area and another for the hem/bustle) and he barely even pinned in the sides so far

Yes! you should go now to see how far you are from the fit you want.
I think you totally need this to motivate you,

Definately go. That way they can get the length taken care of and as PP have said it will show you exactly where you need to be.
