I had my first fitting yesterday – nothing like getting nekkid with a bunch of people in the room! The waist needs to be taken in a bit and the straps tacked down so they don’t fall off. Added an extra layer of crinoline to the bottom and am going with a standard bustle.

Thanks ladies! I’m really excited, especially since I can still wear my cute purple heels with the dress (adding the extra layer of crinoline didn’t take too much of the length away). I wish it was a little poufier, but am happy with how it turned out overall.
But man, dresses are HEAVY!

Stunning!! Is that at Vera’s in Madison? I tried the same dress on there, but ended up getting it in champagne (in Milwaukee). I’m having it altered now, but we haven’t worked out the bustle. We were thinking a standard one so the beading would still show. How did you do the bustle? Do you have pictures?

@michelle1974: Yep – it’s at Vera’s! I’m going with a standard (American) bustle because I didn’t want to lose all of the beading by tucking it under with a French bustle. I’ll check my camera tonight to see if we got any pictures of the back of the dress.
