I tried on my dress about 3 weeks ago, and I couldn’t zip it all the way. 🙁 I’ve been exercising and dieting since then, and I’ve lost 3 pounds. I bought my dress in December, and I must have gained a few pounds in the meantime! (Tip: don’t buy your dress before Thanksgiving and Christmas!) I’m 5’3 and 135 currently, and hoping I can get to 130 by the wedding.
I have my first fitting tomorrow at David’s. I tried on my dress again tonight (with my corset bra) and I was probably 2-4 inches short of zipping it on my own, and not sure that it would even go all the way. I am sure that with some help it probably could have been done (but probably wouldn’t be overly comfy!).
I am going to need the dress hemmed anyway since I am short… do you think if they snuggly zip it tomorrow (or don’t at all) that I should just ask if they have one size larger in the store (and pray that they will allow an exchange?) and have them make alterations from the larger size? Do you think letting it out (if possible) would work just fine? At this point I think I’d rather eat the extra $$ in alterations than worry about not fitting.
I would really hate to continue dieting for the next 7 weeks and still not fit in it on for our wedding! I’ve been doing well with the diet but you can’t guarantee that you’ll lose pounds where you need to.
Anyone else go through the same issues??
