Yes… I know… I’m already married. But we’re having our reception August 6th, and I’ve lost almost 15 pounds since we got married. My dress doesn’t fit!!! So tomorrow, I’m taking my dress back where I bought it, and having my first fitting to take it in.
I’ve been looking at other dresses on all the various used dress sites and on eBay, because it might be less expensive to buy a used dress…but then I think about the fact that I’ll probably still have to have it altered to fit, so I probably wouldn’t save any money.
Of course…now that I’m starting the alteration process, I probably need to stop trying to lose more weight until after the reception… That probably won’t be too hard since I seem to have plateaued! Argh! I really wanted to lose another 5-10 pounds before the reception!!!

I had my fitting and it went really well. I was thinking about having a corset added to it, but decided against it. The cost difference was tremendous. It’s only going to cost between $65 – $75 dollars to take it in leaving the zipper, but it would have cost between $150 and $200 to have it changed to a corset back.
I’m glad my mom went with me, because she pointed out that even if I lose more weight that it will be okay just having it taken in, because I’m going to add the cap sleeves I made myself when I get it back…

Oh! I have pictures all over the place of my dress… But I’ll post another.

It has to be taken in about an inch. I was really surprised by how inexpensive it would be to take in, because it cost $200 to have it shortened and a bustle added when I first got it.
