Here is my original post:
I’m so excited! I have lost 26 pounds since I bought my dress and I bought her a size too small so I can’t wait to see how she fits!!
Ok. I hate to say this but I’m sooo not in love with my dress.
I mean, I like it. It will work. I don’t hate it. There are just so many things I wish I could change and the things I am changing are going to cost me another $700!!!
My appt kinda sucked too. It was super busy and it’s a small little shop. I brought my daughter and they didn’t even acknowledge her. There are only 2 fitting rooms so after waiting 15 minutes past my appt they get me in. When I came out my daughter stood up to see me and 3 girls sat down where she had been sitting. My purse and her phone were still there! Now she had no where to sit for the 30 plus minutes that it took for the seamstress to look over my dress. I asked to try on veils because I had yet to and they acted like it was an inconvenience and only brough me two that were nothing like I said I wanted. Sorry. End rant.
So here are some pics. It is too small now. Especially in the hips. So that’s good. I mean yay me I lost some weight. 🙂
I am having the back lowered to hopefully reduce back fat and more crinoline added underneath to make it poufier and shorter. The hips need to be taken in and I am having an off shoulder bolero/crop top with back button closure made out the same material as the skirt minus the lace appliques.
Here are the before pics in the same dress. (I bought the sample)
This top is similar to the one I’m having made. without the big polka dot flower things.

i’m sorry you had such a bad experience with alterations but if its any consolation you look fantastic and that dress is perfect for you! you look like a completely different person in those pictures. I Love it.
did you leave the dress there? maybe you could find a different place to take it? either way its worth the alterations.

@totheislnds: Thank you!
Yes. I left the dress there. The top that I’m having made is costing me about $400. The alterations on the dress around $300 so that seems about right.
The top I am having made for modesty. (FI’s family is Morman)

Oh, I’m sorry to hear your appointment was disappointing. That just sucks – it should be a wonderful and exciting time! That said, your dress is STUNNING! And you look so beautiful in it – I can’t believe how much weight you’ve lost. You look amazing! Also, lowering the back will do worlds of good when it comes to that “back fat.” I’m sure you don’t actually have any back fat, but those high backs squeeze whatever we have up to that top, and it never looks great. My dress had a low back, and there was no hit of the dreaded “back fat,” so I was one happy bride. 🙂
