I dyed my hair once, with a box dye, in the girl’s bathroom of my dorm in college. Horrible. My hair felt like straw after!

But I think if you have a stylist doing it, it will turn out MUCH better!

@eecuadrado:  I colored my hair for the first time ever late last year.  I went darker so I was able to use a glaze color that isnt permannet.  But Im looking for a different look so I am going permanent next time and it will require lightening my hair.  I think as long as you go to a stylist to get it done you will be fine.  It definitely takes some getting used to.  If you dont like it it will be very easy to go back to dark and let it grow back,  Tho it will take a while.  I totallu get the anxiety that comes with coloring and since I love my hair too much to risk drugstore boxes i will pay the premium.

@eecuadrado:  Your hair is GORGEOUS!!!!! If my hair was as pretty as yours there is no way I would colour it especially to a lighter colour because you will have continual maintenance with covering up the dark regrowth as it grows out, but that is just my opinion.  I say go the ombre clips, your hair looks fantastic with them in and at least you won’t have to worry about drying out your hair…. or regrowth ๐Ÿ™‚

Do NOT dye it that color. It will not match your skin tone and it will completely damage your hair.  you most likely wouldn’t even be able to get it that color on the first try without really killing your hair.

I suggest adding a few natural highlights. Find someone who will do something called “blurring” which basically doesn’t start the highlights from the roots, it’s more natural and starts them in varying heights with varying degrees of lightness, as if your hair just naturally got highlights from the sun. Similar idea to ombre, but not as drastic.

@eecuadrado:  Do not touch that GORGEOUS hair of yours! I have naturally dark hair and I went blonde. Completely ruined the texture of my hair (so dry and frizzy) and because dark hair has dark roots (duh) and it shows up so obviously with blonde hair, I found I had to do my roots very often, like every 10 – 14 days! I will never do that to my hair again… it took me a couple of years to get it back to a nice condition again.

That hair color would look horrible with your skin tone. Don’t do it!

@eecuadrado:  Your current hair color is gorgeous and suits your coloring. I don’t think the color you selected would look nearly as nice and would possibly damage your hair. Besides, there is a lot of upkeep with making it so much lighter and with a baby on the way I would think you would want as low maintenance as possible.
