I’m a newly wed and living in bliss. My husband and I are going home for the holidays and we’re very excited. We’ve worked out where we’ll be for the actual holidays (Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years) but for the week we’re home we are struggling with an arrangement.
I think he’s under the impression that he’ll be staying with his parents the whole time and hanging out with friends. Not sure what he thought I’d be up to. Of course I’ve talked about it and he just seemed so caught off guard that that wasn’t my expectation. I guess I’m asking for advice on how to navigate this situation and examples on how other couples have handeled it. He means well but I feel like he is a little clueless.
Our parents live under an hour apart. My initial idea is alternating nights but being flexible. If his friends decide to go out one night we’re supposed to be at my parents then we can stay in his town. Or vise versa.
Thoughts, ladies and gents?
