I don’t mind it, but my first thought is the guy on Sex and the City.

My first impression is to wonder what his first name is, just because I’ve only ever heard Smith as a last name. But it would depend on how it sounded with the last name for me.

Not a fan.  Reminds me of Sex and the City and secondly the sunglasses.  Plus, it is a common last name.

I would think he was being called by his last name. Then paired with a last name would probably sound weird like “Smith Johnson”. I’d be confused… same thing for 2 first names “Robert Bobby”. Its a no for me. Sorry 🙁

I liiiiiiiiiiiiiikeee. Strong and one syllable. Do it! [My advice is to not tell anyone your name ideas. People are SO rude about giving their unwanted advice re: baby names!]

I would assume someone called Smith was being called by his last name.

Same as the others, I would think he was being called by a last name.  Not that it matters when the people in his life get to know him.  It’s not a bad name.

I usually love last names as first names, but yes, it immediately makes me want to say Smith Jared from Sex and the City.

I said it would grow on me, I said it a few times in my head and it seemed to get better everytime. Honestly, I’ve heard WAY WAY worse names which ARE commonly first names.

To me it’s a surname not a first name.

Smiths is a really popular brand of chips in Australia and that’s what it reminds me of.

First impression: Smith Jared from Sex and the City. Second impression: not a bad name. I like it. Its different, but not in a made-up way so I think its a good option.
