Hi Bees – this is probably a silly post, but we’re not telling anyone about our IVF/surrogacy journey right now, so I just needed to share my excitement with someone! I administered my first Lupron injection this morning! Not a huge fan of needles and it’s especially freaky the first time you poke yourself, but I did it! I can’t believe the process has finally started! I’m so excited/scared/nervous!

FX for you! What does the process entail? We have not TTC yet but I’m trying to learn about all the possibilities.

I hope everything goes well! 🙂

Hope it works out for you! I appreciate that doing something makes you feel more positive about the TTC journey.

Thank you, all!
I’ll be doing Lupron injections for about a week to basically suppress my reproductive system, and then I’ll start an injection called Follistim to stimulate my body to produce eggs. After about 10 or so days on Follisitim, I’ll take an HCG trigger shot, and then they’ll retrieve eggs the following day. We’ll be freezing our embryos, and then transferring to a surrogate in April!

I get that feeling- I was sooooo excited to start mine and no one IRL really understood lol. Not sharing with anyone would be even harder. It felt like we were finally moving forward! Best of luck!

Good luck! Our friends just had healthy boy and girl twins from IVF with surrogacy. They’re blessed and incredibly happy!

good luck! if you got a stinging sensation from the lupron, it does go away or you can used to it.
i did 2 rounds of IVF, my 2nd cycle was the long lupron protocol. even though it was only 5 units, i thought the lupron was worse than the follistim. or maybe i was used to follistim from previous IUI and IVF rounds.

Best of luck to you, I know it’s both exciting and nerve-wracking! FX for a BFP and take home baby!

Good luck, I hope this brings you your baby 🙂

Thank you, everyone! It’s so nice to be able to share this with others!
How exciting! Surrogacy seems to be such a rare thing, it’s great to hear a success story! My husband is kinda hoping for twins, but I’m rooting for a singleton! It’s easier for him to wish for twins when he travels for work 50% of the time! 🙂
Good to know, thanks! I didn’t notice any stinging, but maybe I didn’t notice because I was so worried about just doing everything correctly! I’m on 20u of Lupron right now, and then it will go down to 5u once I start Follisitim.

Good luck!! I’ll be thinking of you!
