I am really curious to see what people this about this topic… I was in a friends wedding in January and she and her husband did the first look and I LOVED IT. It was a very intimate moment for them, they saved time on photos and got to mingle more with their guest. My Mom and Mom in Law think my Fiancee and I should not do it but I think its great…What do you think?

i love the idea of a first look and so many bee’s will tell you to do it! i personally opted for tradition – i didnt want him to see me until i walked down the aisle. though i will say it probably does help a ton for pictures! though i didnt feel rushed after the ceremony.
my compromise? my husband came to see me, i got to hold his hand and tell him i love him and i cant wait to be his wife. my photographer hid me behind my dressing room door and brought him in. i had to yell at him to not peek – i think he could see a reflection in the lense but it was a great – kind of the best of both worlds. and made for some great pics.

@totheislnds: aw cuteness
We did a first look and we loved it. We both still cried when I walked down the aisle so I don’t think it took anything away from the ceremony at all. I would do whatever you want regardless of the mommies, its a recent thing so they might not “get” it. We still managed to miss over half of cocktail hour taking pics so I have no idea how people squeeze the traditional pics into an hour.

It’s ALWAYS great for photos and photographers prefer it because it helps with the flow of the day by allowing you to do portraits together and wedding party/family formals before the ceremony… which means more time! We opted not to do it and if I’m honest, it’s the one thing I regret I’d done differently on my wedding day. I say go for it!

I’ve commented on a recent thread that about my First Look. Until my photographer suggested it, I hadn’t really given it a 2nd thought. I am soo Glad we did Have a First Look!!!!
Since the ceremony was @ a local park filled w/ pine trees, I wanted to have photos of us @ my fav beach. This was the only way to do it. Well, by the time we had our 1st look, we were an hour behind. All craziness was ensuing but when we saw each other for our First Look, Time stood still. Nothing really mattered cause it was just the two of us.
When we saw each other @ the ceremony, we both had a Big Cheesy grin. We were soo happy to be getting married, we held hands and kissed.lmao
So, I say do it. It was definitely worth it.
