I know this may sound silly, but what exactly is a first look photo?

@Smith2Bee:  like these, they are done before the ceremony.

Fiance does not want to do it, he wants to see me for the first time walking down the aisle. I posted a thread asking about it, got great feedback from it.

My fiance is the same way. He does not want to see me before the ceremony even though first looks give you more time with your photographer and time to mingle with your guests at coctail hour. If it wasn’t important for his day, I would be all for it!

I would be all for it but Fiance is so traditional and is refusing to see me until the ceremony lol. He is being more of a groomzilla! It’s important to him so that is fine and we will not be having  a first look but a small part of me wishes we could just because of the great picture ops!

No, I don’t plan on it.  If they can catch FI’s reaction when I walk down and he first sees me then great!  I will put it on my wish list of photos. 🙂

We didn’t want to either, but realistically we may have to.  Our ceremony/reception is in the same place/same room. We thought about leaving and going somewhere else to take pics, but we wanted a late wedding, so the ceremony is tentatively 7pm. So it’s going to be dark outside.

He is actually more wanting to wait till the ceremony more than me, but I think he’ll come around.

It would be so helpful but he wants to share with everyone.  I’m scared we will cry through the whole thing.  We are both saps and don’t do well keeping ourselves togther at emotional times.  I’m torn Cry

@Cheesy Potatoes: I’m getting married in brockway, it’s about 2 hours northwest of pittsburgh (my hometown) we originally were going to get married on oct 6th (that’s our dating anniversary) but there is a “harvest of love” festival that week and the church (that we were going to book, but aren’t anymore) wouldn’t have been available on the 6th.  so we booked our venue for the 20th, and even now that we aren’t using the chuch we just don’t care about changing it back, lol.

Nope, neither of us want to do a “first look”. Not until, I am walking down the aisle at least!

We’re doing a first look, just so we can have a few moments of just the two of us before the big ceremony. I also as a guest really hate waiting in between ceremony and reception, and we have lots of out-of-town family coming who will have a long drive home after the wedding, so we’re going to do most of the pictures beforehand.

Our videographer sent us a sample disc of a wedding he did there recently and it showed the bride and groom doing their first look, and it was absolutely beautiful. I am definitely going to need those moments to be emotional if I have any chance at all of keeping it together for the actual ceremony!

Not doing one… I think Fiance wants to, but I want our first time seeing each other to be at the ceremony.
