We did a first look with just the two of us, and then did some photos with the whole bridal party until the wedding began.  It saved us a lot of time after the wedding so we could get on to the party portion of the evening with friends and family!

We finished our photos about half an hour before the ceremony, he went to wait at the church and mingled with guests. Me and the bridesmaides went back to my parents house to touch up. Funny story, the zipper on my dress broke after first look but before the ceremony. We cut it a bit close and he was a little worried I wasn’t coming.

Typically the first look ends just a few (10-30 minutes depending) before the ceremony starts. Usually this isn’t enough time for the two of you to really just hangout; the guy goes and mingles with his buddies and guests and the bride usually goes to make sure she has everything, get the flowers, etc. So yes and no – you won’t really ‘separate’ but eventually you have to go get the final things taken care of and he goes to the ceremony site.

Thanks for asking this, I was curious myself. I don’t want the first look too close to the start of the ceremony because I don’t want a bunch of random guests milling around to see my outfit either. If possible, I’m going to push for a First look before lunch, but yeah my Fiance may not be staying at the hotel either so I’m not sure what he’ll do other than mill around, mingle with people, and check to make sure things are set up corectly…?

We did a first look at the hotel where I got ready, then did pics around the hotel and downtown, and then walked hand in hand to the venue where we stayed in the “green room” at the venue until it was time for him to walk out. I’m so glad we had that time. The pictures of us walking together to our venue are some of my favorites of that day.

I’m glad you asked this as I’ve been wondering the same!

We hung out with the wedding party. It was such a fun, relaxing lead up to the ceremony.

We also did the family/wedding party pictures right after the first look. It was nice to get all of the formal pictures out of the way so after the ceremony it was just me and my husband. We had probably 20ish minutes to just hangout before having the groom and wddding party go outside to line up for the ceremony.
