Bees I need your help deciding! Since I’ll only be wearing my veil during the (fairly short) ceremony and I’d love some beautiful photos with it on, should I wear it for the first look? We will probably do first look at the hotel, and then run around the city for a while taking photos outside.
I originally didn’t plan to wear it since I’m worried about the first look ruining his reaction when I’m walking down the aisle… do you think that seeing the full look with veil on would take away from that? It will be dark out by the time our ceremony starts so those dreamy natural light veil photos won’t be possible after the ceremony. What do you guys think? I’m torn.

I’m planning on doing a first look, but not wearing my veil. We’ll be doing pictures before and after, so I will still get some with the veil.
For me, I don’t care thaaaaat much about seeing him before the ceremony/his reaction but I think it would be nice to surprise him a little. My veil is fairly dramatic so I think it will be nice to have some pics with and without it, and to look a little different going down the aisle.
My ceremony is on a summer afternoon, though, so it won’t be dark afterwards.

I did a first look and wasn’t sure what I should do either. I ended up wearing my veil for the first look because I wanted him to get the full effect the first time he saw me, and I’m sooo glad I did. It was an amazing moment and to be honest, it was really nice to have that moment with just us and some close friends and fam. I did most of my pics with my veil too… I was undecided but it really made me feel like a bride and my pics are awesome. When else are you going to get to wear a veil again?

The veil is part of your full wedding day outfit but you don’t want to give everything away just for these photos. I think veil on without the blusher down is the best of both worlds.
