Fiance and I are considering doing a first look. How long did you allow/are you allowing for pictures before the wedding? I don’t want everyone to show up and already see me in my dress while we’re taking pictures, but I don’t want to have too much of a gap, either.
Our ceremony starts at 2:00. Is 12:00 reasonable, or should we shoot for earlier? Thanks, bees!

We didn’t do a first look, but I think it depends on how many pictures and locations you are planning on. Maybe your photographer could help you figure it out? Good luck!

@windcriesamy: I would ask your photographer how long they think they will need for them to complete “first look” photos. I know my photographer said that the “first look” photos only usually take about 30 minutes or so and that we should factor in another hour or so for bridal party and family pictures before out ceremony. 🙂

My photographer has us doing:
Bride ‘getting ready’ shots (with bridesmaids & moms): 30 mins
First Look / Bride & Groom pics: 1 hour
Bridal Party & Family Pics: 1 hour
All before the ceremony.
