I have been fighting with myself about wether to do a first look or not. I love the idea of it being just the 2 of us when we see each other, and I want to picture taking to go smoothly, but on the other hand I don’t want to miss that walking down the aisle moment. Did anyone do a first look and regret it later? if so, why?

We do not regret it at all. The walk down the aisle was still so special, I didn’t see anything but him and we still had the chance to be alone with eachother before the ceremony!

I don’t regret making the decision to do a first look. Whereas we aren’t married yet, we’re both really excited to be able to have that alone time before the wedding to get all of those priceless shots and to not be rushed after the ceremony. I’m psyched for it!!! :]

I love the idea of a first look and that’s what we are planning to do. Like MissAsB said, I like the idea of having a chance to be alone before the ceremony. I think pictures showcasing our emotions during those moments would be wonderful to capture! Though I think whichever way you go will be great!

I am going to do the first look! I want to have some special alone time before the non-stop activities!! My mom is so against it though…

I think it will be well worth the tradeoff. You get a private moment with you soon to be husband, plenty of time for pictures, and you cut down on the awkwardness for guests. Seems like a total win. I also can’t imagine that anything could make the walk down the aisle less special.
EDIT: Dude, I’m an idiot and voted yes based on the title of the thread, not reading the poll. Sorry!

I like the idea. We’re not doing one but I have had several friends that have done it and they don’t regret it one bit. I say whatever works for you guys; go for it.

I can’t imagine that seeing each other before will make it any less exciting walking down to marry your fiance! I mean, that’s still pretty cool, even if you did see each other a couple hours ago. haha I dunno, I think its special regardless!!!
We’re doing a first look – We both wanted that time together, just us, before chaos ensues. He’s my person and I couldn’t NOT be able to talk to him before we got MARRIED.
To make “the walk” a little different, I’m not putting my veil (its long) on until the church. So he’ll see me with the veil for the first time walking down. Besides, I don’t want to drag my long veil around town for pictures before the ceremony!

We’re not for timing reasons…but in general I’m totally torn on the idea!

EEK! I read the title of the post and then voted yes by accident. I didn’t read all the way and didn’t realize the question was do you regret it.
We had one and I don’t regret it one bit. It was my FAVORITE part of the whole day because it was just us and we weren’t rushed at all.
It doesn’t take away from the walking down the aisle moment at all! Promise 🙂
