I think that you will be fine. My mom is a deacon and she told me that the meetings with the pastor aren’t too intense. Though I guess it could be different depending on what branch you are. From my understanding there are two types. They were once one but divided. Don’t take my word for it but this is what I remember from my confirmation classes.

Good Luck ๐Ÿ™‚

It will probably be a ‘get to know you’ type meeting.  Like, telling him how you two met, a bit about your story, family history, how you envision the wedding, if you’ve thought about what you’d like in your ceremony, etc.

Obviously, it all depends on the person, but the first meeting is probably not very intense!  The pastor might also give you a homework assignment to bring with you next time (just so he can get to know you better, learn your style of communicating, etc.)

Our first meeting was like an “interview” like @oracle mentioned… how you two met, family situations… growing up family life, how the family knows/feels about the marriage, a personal history of the two of you individually & together & possible some homework on expectations about the marriage (who takes care of what, children/how many/when, where to live, finances, etc) <— I highly suggest some kind of “expectations homework” and would ask if he doesn’t bring it up…. merely because it’s the BEST way to get on the same page about your soon to be spouse ๐Ÿ˜‰

@TheFutureMrsLamkin: He may ask you if you go to church and/or how you picked this one, etc.  There may be some questions about your faith and/or why you want to get married in a church.  Other than that, I can’t imagine he’d grill you about the Bible or anything like that.  I could see him asking if you were a Christian, but not any theology questions ๐Ÿ˜‰
