I like what I have so far, but wanted some other opinions.
We added our invite [minus all the inserts, envelopes], my garters [added extra fabric so we could stretch them around the board], my headband & bracelets, programs, and our save the date magnet].
Some changes I plan to make on it are :
– tucking the head band under the lace maybe?
– I purchase these mini letters to spell out our last name :
– and i also purchased these mini corks which I plan to fill with each color of our sand from our sand ceremony :
– I also purchased these, but don’t really have much room to add them in there :
Here is the mockup [nothing is glued/tacked down yet], what would you change?

jenilynevette: i feel like it needs some colour, nothing pops. maybe the background should be coloured?

MsGinkgo: Hmm. I’ll have to fiddle around with it. Our wedding colors were white & black with a little bit of pink, but there wasn’t a whole lot of pink, mainy just paper straws, napkins, drink sitters, take home boxes, ect.

jenilynevette: Maybe paint the letters and the frames in the pink color??

What about introducing some jewelry? colored or colorless? e.g couple rings

jenilynevette: I think it’s that the invite paper is too similar to the burlap background. What if you put black under the paper pieces just enough for a sort of shadow effect?

jenilynevette: also forgot to mention that I think this idea is super cute, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it and I’m probably going to steal it…

cutratediamonds: The jewelry that I wore that day is in there, we do have a set of couples rings we bought before we moved in together, but I don’t really want to adhere those into a shadow box. Maybe I’ll think of something!
MsGinkgo: You’re totally right. Maybe I can find some light pink, maybe even wide lace to put under the invite/program to make them stand out a little more? And thanks! I seen the idea a few years back when I started planning our wedding, and always kept it in my mind, making sure I saved a magnet from our STD, an invite, ect. I figured this would be much better than just sitting in a box/drawer collecting dust!

jenilynevette: I think it looks perfect. I wouldn’t start tweaking or adding things that weren’t from your wedding, because that defeats the purpose. I think you did an amazing job, and I’ve wanted to do one myself after the wedding as a keepsake. Brava! 🙂
