Misswhowedding :  Totally agree. I think people who conceive easily might be more likely to talk about it…what fun is there in posting it took me 8 months (a year, two years, whatever) to conceive? It CAN happen right away, but for most people, it does not.

Misswhowedding :  +1. My best friend went off the pill and got pregnant that very month. Darling Husband and I have been struggling with infertility for nearly two years and just this morning met with our doctor to get the  ball rolling on IVF w/ICSI.

alynn91 :   I hope it DOES happen for you quickly, but you mother and sister have different husbands than you do. Even if YOU could get pregnant quickly because of good genes, that does not guarantee that your husband can make you pregnant as easily.

I stopped the pill at the start of November and got pregnant about six weeks later. Had one period rig after I stopped and that was it. So it can happen. I’m also 39 years old so I was really shocked when it happened so fast.

I stopped the pill long before we were actively TTC. They leveled out really quickly, almost like I never stopped taking the pill. Each cycle was 28-30 days. When we did start trying it took us 5 cycles and that was with absolute perfect timing.

I agree with all the PPs who said to start temping. I was so thankful I did after coming off of BC because I didn’t ovulate for over 3 months.  It was frustrating, but if I hadn’t been temping, I would have kept thinking I was pregnant and getting disappointed. Because I could show my obgyn my chart, she was willing/able to prescribe provera to “reset” my cycle earlier than she otherwise said she would have.  It took about a year for my cycles to regulate and then another couple months to get a BFP.

And on timing for a certain month: For a vareity of personal reasons, Darling Husband and I both really wanted a late June/early July baby.  We’re about to have a September baby, and the timing is actually better for us; we just didn’t know it at the time!

Good luck to you!

It took seven months for me to get pregnant. Darling Husband and I got married September 2015 and started TTC November of 2015. I know that is early on in the marriage, but we’d been dating for three years and then engaged for a year and a half. We’d lived together for 3 1/2 out of those 4 1/2 years of being together just the two of us, so we wanted to have babies as soon as possible. Our ‘goal’ was to get pregnant by March 2016…I know it’s silly but this chant came to me in a reoccuring dream:

I was initially upset when we didn’t get pregnant then. But then I did the math and figured out we’d be having a December baby…while there is nothing wrong with a Christmas baby…my Mom, Great Aunt and BFF were all born in December and all complained their birthday never felt ‘special’.

Anywho…I got pregnant in June and lo and behold…I AM DUE MARCH 9th! I guess I interpreted the chant wrong in my dream :p

Yet my Father-In-Law tells me that TTC for my Brother-In-Law was an accident…and TTC for my Darling Husband took only five weeks. So it IS possible to get pregnant that quickly, just didn’t happen for me. Good luck 🙂
