I have come to you all for advice. H and I are NTNP right now but I got off the pill in Sept and have started charting to learn more about my cycle.
Does it look like I am doing this right? I try to take my temps around the same time every day, 6:15am or so. Things were a little thrown off because of the time change but for the most part mostly the same or similar times, with the only day of note being this past Sunday into Monday. I slept terribly, was up from 3- 4:15ish because I couldn’t sleep. Woke up and temped at 5:45. I know it might be off because I hadn’t been sleeping long enough and was going to discard it, but FF told me to keep it.
My real “concern” is the huge fluxuations before ovulation and then that big one at 5DPO. From what I read the temp dip after O caused by either implantation or the estrogen surge should not normally be that low, then followed by such a high jump. Thoughts?

I don’t have any advice because I too am new to temping (and really suck at it, lol). Anyways, just wanted to let you know the link doesn’t work, but i think this one should: https://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/674ca1 Also, I think some posters may recommend temping vaginally for more accuracy if you’re not sleeping well and it’s throwing off your temps. I’ve yet to try that, though! Best of luck!

Hmm, your temps are kind of wacky but all of the open circles indicate that the temp wasn’t taken at the right time, are you temping at the same time but entering the temps at different times? Did FF put in those lines and tell you that you ovulated on CD 12 just based on your temps? I’m thinking maybe you didn’t ovulate until that really low temp day of CD 17. But the other thing is that you are looking for patterns. Sometimes if you have one crazy temp you have to just ignore it.

They were all basically within 45 minutes of each other. So they are not far off at all, though they aren’t all the exact same time. The only night I had trouble sleeping was this past Sunday night/Monday morning, so that shouldn’t have impacted the other temps I wouldn’t think?
I think it gave me the crosshairs because of a combo of the temps, they matches my cycle timing for O based on previous months charts and cycle length, and my CP and CM were also appropriate for O. CD 17 had no O signs besides the temp? I had some CM but it was very much creamy and my CP was about as tightly closed as it can get.
Thank you for your advice so far. I will try to get enter about getting those times closer together, it should help that now I’m kinda in the groove of doing it and the time change has passed.

Are you temping orally or vaginally? Vaginal temping is more accurate so you might not see as many big jumps. Also, you just need to make sure you are temping at the exact same time. Other than that looks good!

Your temps are pretty rocky and your chart doesn’t even show a clear ovulation (IMO) because of them. If you sleep poorly, your temps will be higher than they should be. I would probably try temping vaginally next month, it is more accurate and stable so it shouldn’t be as rocky.
