Have a good friend’s daughter named Isabella and they call her Izzie.  At least the more formal name sounds better as an adult.

I was coming through to suggest Isolde. I see some others have suggested that already, so I’m adding my vote for that one!

My ex’s family called a lot of the grandkids by their middle names for whatever reason. Honestly, you could name her whatever you wanted and still call her Izzie since you are using Elizabeth as a middle name. Also, nicknames don’t have to stem from actual names, so there’s that.

smalltownbigworld :  Josephine could go by Izzie. The French pronunciation kind of pulls out the first vowel into a i/o/u hybrid and the s is pronounced as a Z. This could work. Then you don’t have to worry about whether there’s a second girl or not.
