Very few people I know in real life know very much about diamonds, and this forum has been such a help to me!! I know you ladies will share in my excitement 🙂 My fiancé picked this out entirely on his own, only knowing my ring size and that I prefer white gold. It’s absolutely perfect in my eyes! A .9 round brilliant J color VS2 in a 19k white gold setting (I believe it’s a cathedral of some sort? He doesn’t know the exact MM so when we go to the store I want to look again, lol. Spence Diamonds in Toronto)! I virtually never see any color in her and it looks HUGE to me. My finger is a size 5. Also my nails look terrible, and we’re just gonna ignore the background of a SANDWICH aha. I never ever thought I’d own anything this beautiful! we’re both very simple people and very frugal minded (we’re also super Catholic so we want a bunch of kids, so we gotta save lmao) so the fact that he wanted me to have one beautiful thing I’d REALLY treasure forever means the world to me. Thank you ladies for witnessing my joy! 🙂

Thank you ladies! Now I’m debating if I want it sized to a 4.75, since whenever I’m cold it spins like crazy and I’m utterly terrified of losing it 😩

Beautiful ring! Congratulations y’all are precious!

Nice! Congrats! You might want to look into those plastic ring size adjusters before considering resizing, esp if your finger size fluctuates. It weakens the ring to resize it too many times

Congratulations!! I second the motion for a plastic ring size adjuster ($5 – 10 on Amazon for a bunch of them) for now. Wear it (it’s beautiful by the way!!) through all 4 seasons to see how it fits in all conditions before getting it sized permanently. Also, remember that when you are wearing a wedding band with the e-ring, that will also alter how it fits as it will be (even if slightly) be sitting at a different place on your finger.
Congrats again! 🎉

Congratulations! Beautiful ring!
I have a plastic ring size adjuster and it works well for me. I got engaged in March and thought the ring was too big but it fit perfectly over the summer! I second cart when they said wait out all four seasons.

Thanks so much for the plastic ring sized advice! You guys may well be right. I wouldn’t want to be too hasty and have to do multiple sidings. I don’t think it’s going to fall off, I’m probably being paranoid… kind of hard not to be when I know we couldn’t afford to replace it, lol. May have to look into insurance.

AveChristusRex : DEFINITELY insurance for a ring of that value, especially if you know you couldn’t afford to insure it. We were in the same boat as you (needing to save, wanting multiple kids, even living like 1hr from Toronto wow!) and we debated between a more expensive ring we’d have to insure or a cheaper one we could afford to replace. Definitely get the insurance.

Beautiful ring and a beautiful couple! Happy planning!
Oh and make sure you get insurance. Not sure what it is like where you live but I added mine to our home insurance ad there is no way we could afford to replace it if it got lost or stolen!
