Went dress shopping for the first time today, and was successful! I’m stuck between two dresses…My venue is a big Catholic church. Let me know which one you prefer! The second dress I would order in the color shown on the model, not the color I’m wearing in the pictures.
#1: Mori Lee Beaded Mermaid (sample size is a 20 and clipped back quite a bit)

#2 David Tutera Drop Waist Ball Gown (sample slightly small, would be in color on model)

Out of the two shown, I’d definitely go for the first one! It is very flattering to your waist (and will be even more so in the correct size!) It has a very classic and lovely look.
The second one is a gorgeous dress (I love David Tutera’s work) but it kind of cuts you off with the drop waist.
Both gorgeous dresses, you really can’t go wrong π

ElephantAndTheFlea: vintagekitten: Thank you both! The first dress I think is my favorite, but I will also definitely keep shopping, knowing I have a very solid option π

I voted keep shopping. both are super pretty but the 1st one, I immediately focused on the line of beading by the mid-thigh. Good luck π

I really like the second one, but it’s hard to tell since there isn’t a full body shot. It looks weird on the model though, so my thought is to go with the first one. I love all the beading!

When I looked at the first divine picture I thought ” can’t top that” then I scrolled down to the second. Now I see your dilemma. Gorgeous vs grogeous. I voted for the first one because all that beading leaves me breathless but you know I really like a tulle skirt…nah, I’m not much help!

the details in the bodice of the David Tutera did it for me π

- Wedding: February 2016 - Church by the beach,
You have a gorgeous figure but I don’t think you have the shape for a mermaid to be the most flattering on you. The second is my favourite it has beautiful details and seems to suit you more although you don’t have a full length photo. I would keep looking at the moment you might find something better.
Also as your wedding is catholic, strapless may not be the best choice but I am sure it does depend on the church so it might be worth checking.
