You are probably just really stressed and nervous so it may be taking longer to “flow”.

My theory is, if you are worried about it just take a test. Since you are technically late, it wouldn’t hurt. I would stock up on dollar store cheapies if you are TTC, they are addicting!

Sometimes you can ovulate way later than you think!  I would wait a few days and then test again.   Were you recently on birth control?  If so, it can take your cycles a long time to regulate again.

I think a few members of the hive (RunningElley?) have had this happen and ended up pregnant, but last month I also had this happen, and AF was just late for some reason. I think it must have been from stressing about it.

Either way, all you can really do about it is wait and see if it’s still late in in the few days and test again.

Hello Marie!

Hubby and I are TTC and had a cycle exactly like yours last month (our first month).  Are you sure of the date you ovulated? Tell tale signs would be Egg White Cervical Mucous (EWCM).

Basically, your bleeding is never late, but your ovulation could be.  Ovulation can be delayed for things like stress, change in routine, and even dietary changes or weight loss/gain.   If your ovulation is delayed, your period will be “late”.

This past cycle for me was 50 days because I ovulated 2 weeks late due to stress. I drove myself crazy because I thought I could be PG or something else was wrong with me.  Basically, I’d follow the box instructions on pregnancy tests.  It says test 7 days following a negative.

Good luck!
