I am the same! Have you tried it on with a band? I find the band helps “spread out” the finger pudge a bit. Its just a fact of having fleshy fingers lol. Keep in mind, if it’s summer where you are now, winter will likely shrink your fingers a bit making it feel even looser.

Welcome!  I do not have tapered fingers but I wonder if slightly sizing the ring up and adding sizing balls might help your ring fit snugly without causing the muffin top?

I have the same type of fingers you do.  A jeweler also described them as “tapered”.  It’s a pain in the arse.

I don’t think you need to size the ring up based on your picture, and especially since you said it still spins around.  My finger is a 5.75 and my ring is a size 6 (because it’s soldered to the wedding band) and I always look like I have muffin top AND the set still spins.  I can’t win.  A 5.75 feels too snug even though that was the size the jeweler recommended.

We are our own worst critics.  Your ring is beautiful and try to enjoy the moment.  When I tell my friends about my tapered fingers, I usually get a confused reaction because no one has ever noticed that aspect before.

My fingers are similar and I just considered them as chubby but I’m not sure if that’s the right word. Muffin top makes more sense lol 😂 It’s annoying I wish my fingers were skinnier. I have gained weight so I’m sure that added to the effect although I think it would be this way regardless, even at my smallest size. I used to be a perfect size 6.5 and now I’m closer to a 7!

It honestly doesn’t look tight, it looks like a good fit. Is it comfortable? If it is, then don’t change the size to go for a look. It’s better to have the tiniest amount of muffin top (seriously, if you hadn’t pointed it out, I would never have noticed) than to loose your ring because it’s too loose.

I have wide knuckles, but my ring and finger still do that, but mostly because I don’t like it wiggling around on my finger and prefer it to fit nice and snug.

On a different note, I love the channel set version you guys came up with! I’ve always liked Verragio, but I’m not a fan of pave. And this just looks beautiful!

futurebeetobe :  So, it’s actually natural to have a contour where your finger gets wider on the other side of your ring. Mine does the same thing. Your ring actually creates a bit of a groove in your finger as you wear it longer. I would say unless your finger is throbbing or uncomfortable, the fit I see looks right.

No suggestions for you, but I wanted to let you know you have a gorgeous ring there!

futurebeetobe :  I actually don’t sleep in mine for this reason. My finger hurts if I wear a ring overnight because of the swelling. I wake up, brush my teeth and then put it on and it’s fine. Additionally, some hot days or days when I hike make the ring basically stuck. But then in the winter I was worried for a bit that it might slide off my hand! You’re probably like me in that respect where your hands fluctuate a lot.

Your ring is beautiful as are your hands. I think we tend to judge ourselves more harshly than others do. Have you ever lost a ring because it was too loose? That would be my primary concern.
