Soooo…this is my first post (I’m jumpint up & down in my head:)! I found this site 3 days ago & it has been 100% responsible for my lack of sleep! I’m not completely sure how everything works, but I think with all the hours that I have devoted to browsing, I will catch on shortly. So, I’m planning a wedding for next May…which seems like plenty of time to create the DIY/personal/uber-wonderful wedding that I envision. Buuuttt…me & my super-handsome-husband-to-be currently live out-of-the-country (we both grew up in the south & are planning to get married in my hometown), so I feel like planning might take a little bit longer than those who are living next door to a Wal-mart. Don’t even start to talk to me about chain-stores, it’s been over a year since I’ve been to one…if I see an aisle full of different kind of chips, I might pass out from joy. I’m going to be in the States for the month of June. I’m hoping to get things booked/supplies to take home for DIY projects. I’m just so overwhelmed, I’m not sure where to start. So, please help! Where do I begin????

Welcome to the Hive! Start with a budget in mind. Then figure out what your “vision” is. Then work on venue(s) & catering….and maybe choose some colours you want to use along the way!
There’s no rule of where to start, but that’s pretty much what we did. Good luck and happy planning!

Are you currently in st.kitts, stopped there recently on a cruise, so beautiful and less developed than most of the other Caribbean islands I have been to,would love to visit longer one day soon!

Thanks for all the kind words & advice! We are so excited, I keep having to tell myself to breathe, relax, and enjoy just being engaged, it only happens once.
@country62312 Yeah, I’m looking out at the ocean as right now! It’s a beautiful place to live…you are right, it’s not as developed as other islands…but I think that adds to the beauty. You should come visit again!
@mypinkshoes Thanks for the offer! I’m so glad to know that plannng a wedding from another country can actually be done! Yay for success stories:)
