Hi,
I just found out i’m pregnant yesterday which was a huge lovely surprise! But I have a few questions and hope you could answer them as i’ve never done this before!
1. I’m not entirely sure how to measure my pregnancy because I haven’t had a proper period in two years, owing to being on a hormonal treatment for PMS. So I had my last ‘bleed’ on 3rd November but I had a nearly positive OPK on Monday 17th November BUT a definite temperature spike on Wednesday 26th November that has remained fairly high ever since. Finally, when I did the digital test last night it said 1-2 weeks, but some websites say add a couple more weeks on to a digi test.
2. If you’ve managed to get through the above! Can you ladies tell if you are experienceing period-pain like cramps? Mine aren’t constant but feel vert familiar. And do you think this will just be a temporary thing.
3. I also have a cold and am a bit worried that if i continue to have these coughing fits i’ll do some damage to the bean – am I being stupid?!
Thank you in advance!!

Add about 4 weeks on to the test. So you are between 4 a 6 weeks gone 🙂
yup, period feeling lasts quite a while. Totally normally. Will prob pass in 3 – 6 weeks. I constantly felt on the cusp of a period.
you can’t cough out bean, mine would be vomited out ATM with a cold I have.
May I ask are you English?

My vote is 4 weeks pregnant (since they add in the two before conception).
cramps are totally normal. I am 15 weeks and still get them on and off.
cold symptoms can be a sign of pregnancy. Sore throat, sneezing, etc. however, it is cold/flu season, so rest up and just try to take care of yourself.

Hi and congratulations! Due dates can be estimated from your ovulation date so I was going to suggest plugging your ovulation date into an online calculator. I would take Nov 25th since that is the day before your temp spike but that only puts you at 7dpo which is very early to get a positive pregnancy test. Perhaps if you see your doctor they can help with giving you an estimate.
As the other poster said, those feelings are pretty normal according to what I’ve felt myself and heard from others. There’s lots going on in there and it does create some uncomfortable feelings.

MrsYoshida: Thank you – I’m so surprised!
keranos: Hi, thank you – why add the four weeks then? Yes I’m English? Good to know about the cramping, i’ve rushed to the bathroom so many times today thinking, i’m about to come on!
SweetandSimple: Thank you – yes that’s what i’m hoping, four weeks feels so much better than two!
graciej: Yes I thought 7DPO would be way too early as well – I got both a first response and a digi one as well.

Hi
I’m a uk bee and in my first pregancy also 🙂
I had a simular issue with my ‘bleeds’ and my digital test read 1-2 weeks. I’ver heard of th. ‘Add 4 weeks’ tip, not saying it’s wrong as there’s bees here far more experienced than myself.
I had to wait until my first scan at to get an accurate date, as me and Fiance had regular sex and I was on the pill so my cycle wasn’t a ‘real’ cycle.
I suffered really bad and period pains I’m my first trimester they stopped but now I’m at the end (babys being deliverds via c section on 15th) they’ve come back, since about 35 weeks.
Dont worry about coughing, my ultraspind technition would force me to cough to get bubba to flip flop on the scans so he could measure him better.
Nothing makes you daft I had my moment of panic, I love baths and when I was 3 weeks pregnant I had a hot bubble bath and later that evening I burst into tears and got hystericle because is convinced myself is ‘cooked’ the baby. My Fiance laughed at me but I made him call the NHS to be sure that baby was safe.. I’m sure they must of been laughing at the other end!
good luck and congrats! x

cocopops: Find an online “due date calculator” and enter in your last period or your ovulation date. It will give you an estimated delivery date and tell you how many weeks you are. You are probably 4-5 weeks pregnant. The 2 weeks before ovulation count as the first 2 weeks since dating goes by “age of the egg” and not time since fertilization. Since the
average ovulation is on cycle day 14, that is the 2 weeks.
Period-like cramps are normal and continue on and off throughout your entire pregnancy.
Nothing you can do (besides obvious like hot tub, drugs, etc) will harm the baby. They’re not always as fragile in there as we think they are.
Your Dr. can do a scan for EDD if you are unsure, but my office went off of your last menstrual period.

Yorkshirerose1991: That made me smile about ‘cooking’the baby! Something I would def freak out about, as it is I only have a shower in my flat at the moment! I had a word with myself before and I’m just going to be pregnant until a doc tells me different, i peed on three sticks in the space of about six hours this morning trying to see if there was a difference, i’ve exhausted my brain, so just going to chill! Wishing you lots of luck with the final bit of your pregnancy and thank you for your help! xx
