Finally have our 1st appt tomorrow morning after fighting with the insurance company! By my calculations I’m 11w 4d tomorrow. Kinda nervous and excited at the same time. Hoping we’ll get a peak at the peanut tomorrow or at least hear that amazing little heartbeat. Any words of advice for a first time mom at her first OB appt? lol

I have no advice but that’s super exciting!

Write down all your questions before you go to your appointment, review them with Darling Husband and don’t be afraid to ask all of them.
And if it takes the OB a few seconds to find the heart beat, don’t freak out. She basically has to have the doppler right above the baby to hear it, and there’s a lot of spaces for the baby to be hiding out in there.

Good luck!! We just had our first appt last week too and it was amazing. Just have questions ready and be prepared for a PAP and bloodwork. That’s what they did at our first appt anyways. Try to relax too! My doctor and nurse commented on my racing heart b/c I was so nervous. We got to see the heartbeat but not hear it (we are only about 7 wks now). Hearing it will be amazing! Fill us in on how it goes : )

Appt went good! We love our new midwife. My Bridal Party was a little elevated(132/80) so they’re gonna watch that but I’m going to attribute it to a conversation we had on the way to the hosp about DH’s psycho ex, mother of his little girl. lol I have to get BW done, but other than that, everything was good. We had an ultrasound this morning so we got to see the peanut this morning and it looked great. Measuring a little less than a week below what I am(11w 4d) and they pushed my due date back to 7/21/12 but the heartbeat was great, 164 BPM. Even got our 1st picture. 🙂
Holy smokes I’m gonna be a momma!!!! lol
