I asked last week about your suggestions for sheath dresses and I went shopping yesterday. I tried a lot of them and I also tried trumpet, A-line and fit&flare gowns. I am sold on the sheath ones! So confortable and so “me”. Here are a few pictures, tell me which one looks the best! (BTW sorry for the pictures… I am moving/doing something in almost all of them. I could not stay still and my MOH did her best lol. And my bra is always showing.)
1. Vera Wang White at David’s Bridal.
2. David’s Bridal’s own lacy sheath dress
3. Jenny Yoo Vivienne
4. Jenny Yoo Monarch. It is convertible, with chiffon pieces of fabric you can make straps with. On the picture with the spaghetti straps it’s my bra showing, the actual dress without using the chiffon “straps” is strapless.
5. Sarah Seven Long Last. The back is spectacular but the bust part is way to big for me. She tried to pin it to show me and it was much prettier from the front.
6. Haley Paige Blush Adair. Not a sheath dress, but the tulle skirt is very light.
7. Nicole Miller (unknown name)
8. Nicole Miller Nina
So far I think that the 2 Nicole Miller ones are to much like evening gowns and not bridal enough (but I just love back of the Nina!!). Sarah Seven is out of budget, even with the discount the owner of the bridal shop could give me. Haley Paige is also slightly over budget.
My personnal favorite is the Jenny Yoo Monarch because of the convertible straps… I could wear it one way during the ceremony and another way for the reception. My only concern is that it is maybe a little too plain…
What do you think?
I am going tomorrow for the second (and hopefully last) round of dress shopping to see other designers (Maggie Sottero, Sottero&Migley, Rosa Clara Soft, Mori Lee…).

I love 3 and 4 they both look stunning on you. 🙂

My vote is for #3: the Jenny Yoo Vivienne–you look so stunning! (And I love your owl tattoo, by the way!)

sophielle: You look beautiful in all of them but I couldn’t agree more, the Monarch is stunning. I gasped when I saw that one. Love it. Good luck deciding!!

Love the Monarch and Vivienne the most, but have to say that I’m not in love with the chiffon straps on the Monarch, I think it hides the lovely bodice detailing.

I really love the Vivienne the high neck looks so soft and elegant!

Aqua59: Renlikescats: Thank you!
MrsYokiman: Thanks! It is hard thought to find something that will fit with it though… Like the last dress that cuts it in 2 :S
hollandaisey: I thought the same thing… That’s why I think I could wear it strapless with hair down and veil for the ceremony and then use the straps (I like the halter top version or a one shoulder strap) and put my hair up during the reception.

my bridesmaids tried on Vivienne but I thought it was a bit too covered up and Conservative. Monarch does seem a little plain but I guess it depends on your wedding style?
My favourited are of course the two most expensive haha but yeah I really do love the HP. 🙂 u look good in them all!

sophielle: LOVE THESE! I’m also hoping to wear a sheath dress. The Jenny Yoo Monarch is a favourite with a thin crystal belt and a statement necklace. I love the convertible straps, and the fact that you can get it dyed after the wedding to wear as an evening gown!
With the right accessories, it won’t be plain at all. My favourite dreases tend to be like blank canvases that you can dress up to be entirely your own.

S0InL0v3: And the back of the Vivienne is so pretty too! I don’t have a good picture of it but this is one from Jenny’s website
raspberrymojito: Of the more expensive ones the Haley Paige is my fave… the details are gorgeous! It’s true that the Vivivenne is a little conservative… at least the back is more open.
flowercrowns: You are so right! Never thought about the option of dying it and use it again as an evening gown… what a good idea! Strapless+hair down+veil+necklace+thin cristal band at the ceremony vs one shoulder+hair up+no vail+no train+no belt+ no necklace for the ceremony = I’ve got 2 different dresses for the price of one. You are making me even more excited about this dress!

The back of it is so pretty!

I like all of them from 3 onwards. Typically I like the most expensive one the best – oh dear!
Out of the ones that are genuine options, I like 4 best because of the versatility. Actually really like the straps halter-style – really showcases your tatt and gives you a bit of a bad-girl-turned-good ’50s pin-up feel LOL.
