Of all of those, I think the one that looks the best is #2. The rest are just OK.

I agree with MichelleJane. I am not really a David’s Bridal fan, but I actually liked those dresses best on you. With the others, I feel you are drowning a bit in fabric and they just are not as flattering–they don’t show off your great shape.

I would recommend David Fielden, but he is pretty expensive and hard to find. I tried on a few of his dresses at a second hand bridal shop (I could never affford them new!). They are so simple but cut so perfectly that they just drape beautifully. Some other dresses I found flattering (I am about your size and also wanted a sheath but ended up with a mermaid): Maggie Sottero Emiliena, Allure 2455, adnd Badgely Mischka evening gowns (there are some ivory ones on the website for under $1000). I found that dresses that were too ethereal, as much as I loved them, just weren’t as flattering as something with some weight that could drape.

The illusion necklines just mean you have a neckline so straps etc… but the material is much more transparent, so it looks lighter than heavier material. I do like the little belt on the dress above, pulls your waist right in and I do think the cut of the neckline is more flattering than some of the others. It does show off your hourglass shape more ie little waist and ample chest. But if you don’t like the beading and material, then it would be a no go for you. Above all, you must love it! It doesn’t have to make you cry but you do have to love it. Please show the pics from the next visit though. We look forward to seeing them!

I also love the Jenny Yoo although FYI, that and some of the other “sheath” dresses are definitely not sheath dresses but A-line, which seems more flattering on you anyway!

sophielle:  I love the Monarch on you! And I love the Jenny Yoo convertible dresses – they’re so much fun! My bridesmaids wore the black Aiden at my wedding and did exactly that – they wore it one way during our ceremony and one way during the reception. And they all commented that it was a super comfortable dress and have all actually already worn it again to other things (and we’ve only been married two months!).

You really can’t go wrong though – you look stunning in them all!

sophielle:  Were you at white satin bridal by any chance? That’s where I bought my dress 🙂
