I went to David’s Briday yesterday, early with appointment, only one there… you know the drill.
I hated the bra they loaned me. I will have to try and find my own that fits better before the next dress trial because that one was not made for me at all.
We did find 2 dresses I was actually able to try one and liked pretty well. I also sort of tried on another that I think I would like the most if I could actually see how it would fit. She didn’t bring it out until the end and that style was my top 3 so not sure why??
I didn’t get any special feeling. I was glad to see that I could find a dress at this weight that I would be comfortable in. One would need alterations because it is too long waisted for me. The other would need less train and to be hemmed.
I really hated my huge boobs most of all, I felt like I was all boob especially from the side. It was like boobs on a shelf if you know what I mean. I am hoping that is mostly from the bra, because I wear tanks and thin strapped clothing in the summer and swimwear and dont’ feel that way. I think a properly fitted corset back would be the best, perhaps if fitted properly and with cups I wouldn’t need the bra layer at all.
I am planning to wait a couple months and then hit a nearby salon that is more designer. Hope to lose at least some weight before then. Perhaps that should be my goal, no dress shopping until 20 or 30 pounds are gone, 40 would be even better.
Any large chested plus brides with a good bra/foundation recommendation?

I don’t have a bra recommendation, but you definitely need to get your foundation garment before you can really try on gowns with any confidence. I just got a stapless/spanx-ish situation from Kohls that covered my torse (in a-line gown). I did try on a corset dress w/ no bra and it fit well, if the dress you choose has good boning & corset you can def go braless. Good luck, & don’t get discouraged! My first shopping trip was horrible lol, second was much better : )

def helps with the right bra! it makes everything fit much better. the first store i went to i wore my own strapless, and it didnt make things fit right, but when i went to davids i was able to find one that fit great and it made all the difference. Maybe try a specially bra shop? Not suer were you live but id would goole it.

o and i keep saying i wouldnt dress shop til i lost weight, but at the end of the day my fiance fell in love with me( fat and all) and its not going to change his opinon of me if i loose 20 pounds or not.
Granted i would love to loose some weight, but im not going to wait( dont have time) and im not going to order a smaller size in the hopes to loose weight( bad idea!)
So just rememeber your finace lovese you for you!

Don’t wear a bra at all, and find a dress with a corset back.
Here are my 36GGs in my corset back dress, sans bra
Here’s what they looked like with a strapless bra
I felt more comfortable and looked more natural without a bra. A good corset will hold you in perfectly.

I appreciate the responses, I am certain that the next shopping trip will go better, I’m going to try some Maggie Sottero dresses 🙂
@littlemisst08: I agree that your dress better without the strapless bra, that is what I am hoping will happen for me.
