Okay beautiful ladies! My big day is 49 days away! (YIKES!) MY Fiance and I have not decided on a song to dance to. We are tossing around the idea of doing a “bust out dance” just because we want to have a heck of a party at the reception! We thought this would kinda set the mood for the rest of the night. We have also thought about doing a traditional first dance but cannot come up with a song. We’d kinda like to stay away from a song that’s popular and on the radio every 5 minutes. This is what we’ve discussed so far:
Uncle Cracker – Smile (it was popular a few years ago but not so much now)
Sinatra Fly me to the moon
What a wonderful World/Somewhere over the rainbow – Israel Kamakowiow’ole (I’m a wizard of Oz freak and love the feel of this song!!!)
I know “our song” should be about us but we’re both obsessed with music and having a hard time deciding what to do.
What are your opinions on a bust out dance and what are you dancing to?
Fiance and I are dancing to “Differences” by Ginuwine. We both are HUGE fans of Ginuwine so it wasnt hard for us to pick a first dance song at all. Maybe your song could start out slow and traditional and then have the DJ interrupt the song after the first minute and play a different upbeat song (or a couple of them!). It would be a nice surprise for the guests:
I have seen that! And we love it! Neither one of us has amazing dancing skills which I think would be funny! And make those not-so-graceful-dancers a little more comfortable on the dance floor! 🙂 Thanks!
I haven’t even thought about the ceremony! I am obsessed with the dance down the aisle
however it won’t work for us because our wedding is formal… I would love to do non traditional music for both but mom is completely against it… 🙁 I actually thought about using the Wonderful world/Rainbow song somewhere in the ceremony too.
We’re dancing to ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ by Morcambe and Wise.
I introduced my bloke to them when we first started going out, and we always take time when we’re feeling rubbish to watch a couple of episodes. I also sing the song at him when he’s had a bad day, and it always makes him smile.
It’s a really ‘us’ song.
