I was terrified to get my first tattoo, but it really wasn’t as painful as I expected. I now have 5 tattoos. It does get addicting 🙂 Some spots are more painful than others, but an ankle tattoo should be pretty quick. I agree with everyone else about the aftercare. I have been given different instructions depending on the salon I go to. Just make sure to keep lotion or ointment on them, so they heal nicely. Also, I know some people have already mentioned sunscreen. Keep sunscreen on it to prevent fading.

I love the design, but be careful of getting a tattoo with very fine lines that are close together – with age they will blur and fade.

Even if you are scared of pain don’t put on any numbing lotion or cream on before you go. This also affects the crispness of the design and will cause the ink to ‘bleed’ a bit.

Have fun!

Edit: just saw that you had it done! Looks great. 🙂
