Wear a nude bra and be prepared to remove your bra to try on some dresses!

Try as many as you can and time allows, even the type of dresses you don’t think is “you”.

My most important tip is to take photos standing on the floor! Make sure the proportions of the dress looks good without standing on the plinth!! The plinth makes everyone look taller and slimmer and like you have legs for miles under that dress because the dress will reach the floor beneath the plinth but on your wedding day that’s not what you will look like walking and standing on the ground.

Don’t wear thong underwear…I wore a conservative bra and big ole panties…complete strangers are going to be helping you get in and out of the dresses…don’t worry about panty lines – you won’t be able to see them in most of the dresses ๐Ÿ™‚

If you plan to wear shape wear, wear it to the appointment. That way you’ll know what it will look like instead of hoping it will look better with shape wear.

princessbride2017 :  They will supply you with under garments like a bra or petticoat but I wore a thong not thinking and the poor girl had to see my bare booty the whole time. Really wish I wore boy shorts!

LOL – Yeah, I am not a sticker bra kind of girl!

…I also brought my shapewear to the first fitting as opposed to dress shopping…it made me feel like I lost the 10 pounds I never actually lost…LOL

Strapless bra and if you have OCD like me… full undies. laughing I made the mistake of doing thongs for the first few appointments before I realized that the dresses aren’t all THAT clean. Enjoy!

So many commentas about thongs! I wore a thong because that’s what I wear and it would create the best lines under clothes. (And because I’m far too old to be self-conscious any more haha) Honestly, they see it all. It’s only a bare bum! ๐Ÿ˜‰ But whatever you are comfortable in is great, so you can relax and enjoy it.

Personally I’d take a bra with straps if you are in any way larger chested as it will lift better under a dress that also has straps, giving a slimmer look (you said you’re trying 3/4 sleeves). You can always loosen the straps and tuck them in if you try a more corset-like strapless dress. Or take 2 kinds of bra- no harm in being prepared!

I didn’t do this but it makes sense to take a pair of tights with you (US panty-hose I think) so you can slide on any dresses that are a bit snug.

I would take some heels with you of a similar height to what you’re planning to wear on the day. That’s really important.

And try everything on. I was far too picky and had set ideas. You’ll only do this once so try as many kinds of dress as you can. It’s fun. Enjoy!

If the store allows it, take lot of pictures AND videos of all angles!  Super helpful to look back at after all your appointments.

Wearing pantyhose is helpful in eliminating panty lines and can possibly help you imagine the dress with shapewear underneath.

Don’t bring too many people with you to your appointments if possible. I went myself most of the time but sometimes brought one person along.  Too many opinions & personalities may overwhelm you.

Wear a backless and strapless bra!  It’s perfect for trying on sheer or backless dresses.  Mine has a bit of pushup too since I’ll be adding pushup cups to the dress.

VERY IMPORTANT IMO:  You may have ideas of certain types of dresses you want to try on or stick to, but be open to trying other styles.  On my long and ongoing journey to find a dress, I immediately ruled out non-lace and strappy dresses without trying them on first.  Fast forward, I’m In love with 2 dresses that are exactly those 2 things.  I wish I had tried those types on from the start, maybe that’s why I couldn’t find one I was in love with!

Good luck and have fun with this because you only do it once! Hopefully ๐Ÿ˜‚

I wore a nude strapless bra, and granny panties. People will be helping you in a gown. I also don’t feel comfortable with people looking at me in bra and panties

SPANX!!  Trust me.  Wear them.  It will make it a million times easier to get in and out of those dresses…even if they’re not super tight ones.  The dresses just slide right on and off..especially if you end up trying on some fitted dresses or dresses that are a little too small for you.

Plus you’ll be that much more covered up since mine cover knee to underboob practically.
