Good undergarments!  Also, I wish I had done more with my hair/makeup when I went.  My hair is super flat in the pictures I have of the day.

Make sure you wear underwear you don’t mind people seeing and a strapless bra.  The salon I went to provided bras but I’m a 38D so I was nervous that they wouldn’t have my size.  Good luck!

Heres’ some dress shopping advice I gave another bee:

As for dress shopping, here’s the advice I have:

1) Eat a good breakfast because it is hard work and tiring

2) Wear/bring proper undergarments. The consultant will be helping you in and out of dresses. I wore a strapless bra and spanx (more comfortable than a strapless bra and just a thong).

3) Try on all different silhouettes, styles, and fabrics. You never know what you are going to like.

4) Be clear about your price range up front. You do not want to fall in love with a dress only to find out it is way out of your price range.

5) Don’t expect to find your dress on the first try, and don’t expect the moment you have the dress on you will “know”. I had to try “my dress” on 3 times at 3 separate appointments before I knew it was “the one”.

6) Wear some make up and have your hair look nice. It’s easier to picture the “wedding day” look that way.

And most importantly

7) HAVE FUN! Playing dress up is fun. And your dress is out there somewhere.

I tried on 50-60 dresses before finding mine. So if you don’t find it the first time out, just keep looking.

Bring pictures of dresses you like so they can visually see in case you cant describe it right.

Let the sales person pick something out for you after you pick some. They have a lot of experience and know the stock and may surprise you! I know several people who found their dress this way.

Wear heels if you plan on wearing heels that day

Remember that the dress will fit better when ordered for you, so dont like a dress just because it fits better than another.

Accessories similar to what you think you might want to wear on the day, shoes with a heel height close to what you think you’ll wear, and a hair clip/elastic so you can see what the dress looks like with different hairstyles.

I went prepared with all three of these things and they all came in handy to get the best picture of how I would actually look in the dress at my wedding.

Also, not something to bring, but something to remember: don’t forget to try sitting down, dancing, and whatever other movements you will need to test out before you commit to a dress. You don’t want to find out any quirky dress surprises last-minute!

I forgot undies the first time I went!  I’m a commando kinda girl 🙂  had to stop at target and pick up a pair, which made us late!  I had to call and tell the bridal store that I was running late.. luckily they didn’t ask why!  soooo, you’ll need underwear definitely!

TRY ON EVERYTHING and take lots of pictures!!!
