shouthuzzah:  oh bee, good for you for turning this into a positive! I considered separates as well but decided against it because I had trouble matching color/fabrics. I still think it’s an awesome and practical idea. How many brides can re-wear parts of their dress? There’s plenty of “alternative” options and as long as you feel great in it, go for it!

I’m sorry you had such a terrible experience! Their rudeness was definitely uncalled for! I love the look you have created! If for whatever reason it does not work out check out mod cloth they have bridal attire reasonably priced in your budget!

I like to remember that people can only make you feel bad if you value their opinion. Sorry consultants, you’re the losers in this story. Chin up bride!

lol I was going to suggest this too. My friend did this for her wedding recently and she looked lovely! Im sorry your experience was so bad, but just go ahead and forget those snobs in the shops. You’re gonna look AWESOME in a dress that cost even LESS money, AND its custom 😉

P.s. Bbq at the park sounds like a killer wedding. I love bbq.

Brilliant! You’re definitely getting the last laugh on this one. Now leave those asshole “consultants” the terrible Yelp reviews they deserve.

Necessityis the motherof invention! I like the look of what you have come up with! Your public park, budget-wise wedding isl ikely to be just as beautiful as any extravagnaza and your marriage may well be as sucessful as any that starts with a fancier celebration.

I have not tried a 2piece but i did order from dressily because I knew i could not afford a dress from a bridal shop.

Love yout solution ,it looks  wonderful and not in the slightest  ‘budget’. I wonder if a body suit/ leotard might be better tahn a top ( of any length)  which could ride up ?

Do  let us see pics  when you have  them  . Oh and don’t  forget to give an honest and detailed bad review of that  shop !  I did this recently for an  organisation and got back a serious apology plus proof they had had words with  the person concerned
