You look gorgeous in both the trumpet and the ball gown! I honestly don’t know which I’d vote for over the other. But, as PPs have said, take your time and do some more looking, just to be 100% sure. Like choosing a husband, you’ll know when the dress you’re trying on is The One. 🙂

Go with what your heart tells you. You look great in both dresses. I’m curvy as well and prefer trumpet/mermaid style dresses.

You all are so very kind. I’m the biggest of my entire family and your words really made me feel good about myself after such a sizing debacle. I talked it over with my mom and seeing y’alls reactions too, I’m going to try to find a mermaid/trumpet in the next few months that checks all my boxes and if I can’t I will get that ballgown. Some of the dresses posted here really caught my eye and I’m trying to see any area stores carry them. If the mermaid/trumpet is of reasonable price and requires little to no alterations, I may try to get both!

I like the ballgown best. But honestly, all of them look really great on you. Very flattering dresses, you can’t go wrong with any of them.

I love both! The bodice to the ballgown makes me drool a little bit though!

Honestly the ballgown with the black lace bodice is just SENSATIONAL on you! I think if you put black lace around the edgeof the veil it wouldlook terrifc too. The trumpet is beautiful too. The ball gown though has real impact. It’s the sort of gown people will remember long after your wedding.
I’m sure you will work out the right solution for yourself. Your back and white theme is divine.

lilacjedibride: Hey – I’m not trying to stalk you, honest, but I had three more dresses that I meant to post but didn’t see them as they were in another window. These ones are more white than black, and are actual wedding dresses.

What about having a dress dyed? If you could find the shape and style you like and get someone to dye it to the right colour. Youd have to research a really good place to dye it but I bet it could work and look amazing!

Tadashi Shoji! Don’t know your budget but these are both under $600 and come in plus sizes (also, they run large – I bet you could wear a 14)

I kind of like the ballgown without the petticoat.
