I went to my first dress appointment yesterday at Vera Wang and it was so much fun. Although keep in mind I hope to lose 20 pounds by next year!!
Which do you like the best? And why? And/or just any general thoughts? 🙂 Feel free to post your Vera dresses too please!!!
Vera Wang Gemma
Vera Wang Kathleen (Spring 2013)
Vera Wang A-Line Ball Gown

I love the first one on you! 🙂

i think gemma is the most flattering on you.
why on earth do you think you need to lose 20lb?

You can’t go wrong, these dresses are all so lovely on you! The second is my favorite on you.

I vote the Gemma—personally, I bought Vera Wang Ethel, but it was between that and the Gemma. The Gemma looks gorgeous on you!

The first picture is my favorite, but you look beautiful in all of them!

I think the Gemma hit too low, but the Kathleen is much better!

Thank you all for your input! Keep ’em coming! 🙂 the consultant at vera was also super nice, didn’t pressure at all…
@cardus: I have always been 20 pounds lighter, but recently gained weight, so am determined to lose it before the wedding! (Actually the first gemma sample didnt fit! So they had to get a bigger size, bah humbug!)
@DaisyBuchanan: I really like the Ethel too, but they didnt have it to try on 🙁 or maybe I just didnt see it on the racks…

Definitely Gemma! But part of what makes it amazing is how it hugs your curves… 20 pounds lighter and it might fit differently. I think you look amazing in it at your current size!

I don’t care for the a-line on you, it just hangs on your figure. I think you definitely found a silhouette that works for you with the first 2 dresses. Fawn, June, Fiona, and Holly are all trumpet/mermaid styles in the VW line that could work. There are 2 others from Spring 2012 that I can’t find their name- one was green and one was grey, both had big bow belts when shown on the runway. I tried on the green one and it had really cool detailing on the bodice. I have the Hayley, a big ballgown, but I’m envious of brides who can pull off the slimmer silhouette!

I like the last one but that is because I am not a fan of mermaid styles at all. I think it would look even better with a sweetheart neckline 🙂

20 lbs!! OMG, I can’t even imagine how thin you must have been! In my opinion, a little bit of curves looks great in a wedding dress. If you look at some of the models in the dresses, they just don’t look as good! But I know what it’s like to want to be a size you used to be & I’m working on that myself 😉 Just saying, you look great now, so if you only lose 5-10 lbs, be happy! And also I voted for the first one 😉

#1 for sure! PS. Pretty sure you don’t need to lose any weight. You look fantastic!

@inspiredcreations: @Amayansong: @Natto: Thanks so much! I am really leaning toward the gemma, it has been my dream dress forever, but to be honest the weight gain has been making me feel a bit down and I wasnt sure if i looked that good in it… thanks for the boost of confidence!!
@BooRadley: Thanks, i”ll take a look at Vera’s other mermaid styles!
