You are sooo right. It is a huge roller coaster of emotions. We are going back for a second showing this weekend on a house that I am smitten with. Hopefully Mr. Lk will warm up to it a bit more this time around. But this is our second time in the market, because last year’s attempts went all wrong on every level. So we took a break and are now trying again.

I think we learned a lot last time that is making this time easier. Like we’ll never again put in an offer on a house without a second showing and at least a 7 day waiting period to cool off and evaluate everything. There was so much that we didn’t notice on our first showing, stuff that ended up making us walk away from a house after paying for a home inspection and appraisal. We spent almost $1000 and had nothing to show for it because we moved too fast and went under contract on a house that we shouldn’t have. And I’ve learned to be less emotional about the process. I already fell in love with a house last time, and I’m smitten with another house this time. I used to be stuck on those emotions, thinking that no other house could make me feel so happy, but another house has done just that. If I can fall in love with 2 houses, then there are others I can fall in love with, too. So if this house doesn’t work out, that’s 100% okay. There will be others and I will be happy.

We’ve been looking for a house since the end of last summer, off and on.  Not much of a rollercoaster for us, yet, mostly because all of the houses we’ve seen have been disappointing in one respect or another.  Hoping to see some better stuff this spring!

Yup, it is a roller coaster ride. We looked at a few  neighborhoods for over a year and put in countless offers. It definitely wasn’t eash, but the house we ended up with definite suits us. Also, in that time the market kept dropping so we ended up getting a great deal as the prices have only been going up since 🙂 So don’t worry. It will all work out!

It’s been a year and a half, but I remember the emotions clearly.  It was definitely a roller coast ride!  We had 2 houses snatched right out from under us with in 2 weeks by hours.   We didnt even get the chance to put in offer.. we saw the houses one evening, loved it, was going to do the offer in the morning.   By morning, we’d found out that they’d accpeted an offer just hours after we left.  AAHHHH!!!  It did all turn out for the best, we keep looking, and found out true dream house  (though we did have to up our budget a little).

Good luck!!  It’ll all be worth it and work out in the end.

I completely understand. We put in an offer on a house on Sunday night, negotiated for 2 days, and had an offer accepted on Tuesday night. Now we have 7 days to do the inspection and start to get our loan finalized. It’s crazy! And the whole time I have to keep telling myself that things could still go wrong and we could loose the house… but I don’t want to, I love it!

I feel ya girl!

We were only house hunting for a few months. We saw over 20 houses!

We made on offer on one that didnt end up passing inspection. I would be lying if I said I didn’t cry.

Just a few weeks ago we saw a house that went on the market that same day. All went well and our closing is in March!

Good luck!

Any home buying is stressful even if it isn’t first time!  We just bought our second and it was a pain.  I looked at probably 50 houses and then the lender caused so much trouble for us right at the end I still feel sick about it almost 2 months later!
